Instrumentalists of all ages and abilities are most welcome to attend.
I AM A BEGINNER, CAN I JOIN?
If you have been playing or learning a string, woodwind, brass or percussion nstrument for a while and feel the need to play with other like-minded people come along and play with Dandenong Ranges Orchestra. DRO’s membership is drawn from local (and wider) professional and amateur musicians of all ages and abilities who enjoy playing the classical repertoire together under the baton of a professional musical director. No auditions are required but Grade 5 strings gives an idea of the standard of the repertoire that is played. But if you’re not at that level you are still welcome to come along with your instrument to listen and learn - be prepared to grow as an nstrumentalist!

WHAT TYPE OF MUSIC DOES DRO PLAY?
We rehearse and perform a wide range of music from the classical and modern repertoire. DRO have performed music from movies and theatre as well as original compositions by Australian composers.
CAN I TRY IT OUT BEFORE I COMMIT?
Absolutely! If you're uncertain about joining, we encourage you to attend a few rehearsals first to see if it's for you.
